Bullying Bryson

In a recent Golf Digest article by Chris Jones, Bryson DeChambeau’s recent struggles were listed. Most recently injuries have kept him off the course. Something far worse though is what I would like to address.

Bryson’s methods (single length clubs) and personality (talking “too much”) have been analyzed…fair enough. But between the media and some of his peers he has flat out been bullied. Why? Because he’s different.

Between Brooks Koepka buying beer for fans that yell in his backswing to incessant over analyzing by the media… it has gotten to be too much. Something as simple as the hat he wears draws the ire of these bullies and congratulations, you guys got him to conform. One “media outlet even referred to him as less punchable wearing a regular hat instead oh his hogan hat. Ridiculous.

Bryson being different should be celebrated. He has been good for the game. When was the last time fans camped out on a tee box to see someone try and drive a par 5? Never that’s when. He won the tournament doing it too.

His methods are different. His personality is different. Quirky some might even say. Brilliant is what I call him. Let the man be and watch what he can do. We live in a world with all kinds of golfers and Bryson stands out for all the right reasons. Golf needs him and he lives for it…let him.
